About Clair

Clair qualified with a Degree in Nursing Science in 1996. In 2001 she came out of the hospital and began working in Public Health in Wakefield for smoking cessation setting up the smoking cessation in pregnancy arm of Wakefield’s Stop Smoking Service. Here she worked with pregnant women who were working towards quitting and worked with the health care professionals around them to encourage behaviour change.

This interest in behaviour change continued into her next role as a health development Nurse at Foxhill Medical Centre. Here her primary role is encouraging people and facilitating them towards making healthier lifestyle choices from dealing with stress, smoking cessation to weight management.

“It is a very patient centred role and I feel very strongly that we need to empower patients to make the changes in lifestyle at a point they are ready and be there looking to say and do the right thing at the right time to facilitate change”.
